Dr Ebaa Al-Ozairi is an Assistant Professor at Kuwait University and a consultant Diabetes, Endocrine and Nutrition. She is an honorary senior lecturer at Dundee University UK. Dr Al Ozairi has completed her intercalated BMSc (hons) in molecular pathology at Dundee University (UK) and graduated from Aberdeen University (UK) for her medical undergraduate studies. Ebaa then joined Newcastle University (UK) for her specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology. During her postgraduate studies in UK, Dr Al Ozairi was awarded The Fulbright fellowship to Joslin Diabetes Center, affiliated with Harvard medical school, Boston, USA.

 

Her research interest includes diabetes education, technology, metabolic surgery and obesity. Ebaa has been accredited by the Royal College of physician (UK) as a medical educator, and is an associate practitioner at the UK Higher Education National Academy having completed teaching fellowship. Ebaa has completed her fellowship in obesity and holds the American Board for Physician Nutrition Specialist and is a fellow at the American College of Nutrition. She also directs DAFNE type 1 diabetes education program and currently is granted the training centre for the Middle East. Dr Alozairi has completed her Rabkin Fellowship in medical Education at Harvard Medical school. Dr Al-Ozairi is on the editorial board for Austin Medical Journal and the Journal of community medicine and public health. She is also a reviewer for Diabetic Medicine, Obesity surgery, Practical International Diabetes. She has 3 chapters in International books and an author in medscape, bariatric times and Endodiabology. Dr Alozairi has won his highness the Amir Gold medal electronic award and the Arab regional award for founding sokary.org.

Aly B. Khalil is currently a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Imperial London Diabetes Centre – Abu Dhabi (ICLDC) and adjunct Associate Professor at the United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, UAE. He graduated from the University of Marseille in France then emigrated to Canada where he received his training in Internal Medicine at Queen’s University and Endocrinology at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

With a special interest in the management of thyroid disorders, Dr. Khalil has chalked up wide ranging clinical experience, while authoring multiple publications in both areas and presenting at different regional and international meetings.

With a background firmly rooted in North America, he has held different administrative and clinical positions. He is a former President of the Ontario Diabetes Association of Canada, Founding Member of the Lebanese American University and Past President of the American Association for Clinical Endocrinologists-Gulf Chapter.
