Thamer Alessa is a consultant physician, the Head of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital and a Clinical Staff at Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait. He received his bachelor’s degree of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Kuwait, Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Alessa is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine after completing residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Miami VA Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. Additionally, he is also the Vice President of the Kuwait Osteoporosis Society, a past Board Member of the Kuwait Endocrine Society, the Chair of the Examination Committee of the Kuwaiti Board of Endocrine and Diabetes Fellowship Program and a member of the Examination Committee of the Kuwaiti Board of Internal Medicine Residency Program.
