Aly B. Khalil is currently a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Imperial London Diabetes Centre – Abu Dhabi (ICLDC) and adjunct Associate Professor at the United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, UAE. He graduated from the University of Marseille in France then emigrated to Canada where he received his training in Internal Medicine at Queen’s University and Endocrinology at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

With a special interest in the management of thyroid disorders, Dr. Khalil has chalked up wide ranging clinical experience, while authoring multiple publications in both areas and presenting at different regional and international meetings.

With a background firmly rooted in North America, he has held different administrative and clinical positions. He is a former President of the Ontario Diabetes Association of Canada, Founding Member of the Lebanese American University and Past President of the American Association for Clinical Endocrinologists-Gulf Chapter.

Dr. Bashir Taha Salih was born in Omdurman, Sudan, qualified with a medical degree in Internal Medicine from Germany. After working as a Consultant Physician in Sudan, Dr. Salih joined Al Jazeera and Central Hospital as a General Physician.

In March 1994, he was appointed Consultant and Chair of Obstetric Medicine in Corniche Hospital, where he established the first unit of Obstetric Medicine in the Middle East. He looks after patients with medical problems pre-dating, during or after pregnancy, holds several combined clinics with obstetricians and specialized physicians. He gained large experience in the management of medical complications in pregnancy in particular diabetes in pregnancy. Dr. Salih is the Middle East Representative of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine (ISOM) since November 2003 and member of other national and international societies. In March 2010, RCOG, UK recognized Obstetric Medicine Unit in Corniche Hospital as the first and only unit outside UK to train obstetricians (ATSM) in maternal and obstetric medicine. In April 2012, Dr. Bashir was awarded the fellowship of the RCOG, UK for the high level of dedication and achievement in clinical care and his support to develop women’s healthcare services.

Dr. Salih is currently the Chair of SUDA (Sudan Diabetes Association) UAE Executive Committee.
