Dr. Naji Al Johani, MD, ABIM, FRCP, is an endocrinologist consultant and assistant professor at the Specialized Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Faculty of Medicine in King Fahad Medical City, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is also a board member of the Prince Mutaib Chair for Biomarkers of Osteoporosis in King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Society of endocrinology and Metabolism and Director of Diabetes Prevention in the Saudi Diabetes Association. He obtained his fellowship at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada and thyroid fellowship at University of Toronto, Canada. He has authored/co-authored several peer-reviewed papers and has been an invited speaker in both national and international conferences in the fields of endocrinology, obesity and vitamin D.

Ali Saif Al-Mamari is the Head of Department of Medicine since August 2014 and Head of Endocrinology Unit from July 2008 at Sultan Qaboos University. He is also Senior Consultant in General Medicine; Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Department of Medicine since February 2010. He received his MB.ChB in Cairo University, Egypt in 1991. And his MRCP – UK in 1999. After which, he received his MD (PhD equivalent) at the University of Glasgow, UK.

He was appointed the Deputy of HOD for Clinical Service in June 2008, since then he assumed his responsibility in organising the largest department in the hospital with its tremendous contributions and subdivisions, including staffs within each unit or specialty, allowing fair and reasonable number of staff in each unit to streamline work for the growing number of patients as in and out patient service.

As Head of the unit; his responsibilities includes; development and organisation of the unit in inpatient and outpatient care, consultations and on call duties, discharge and admission summaries. Providing annual report of the unit activities and follow up and ensure implementation of various duties designated to the unit by HOD or the Departmental Board.  He is responsible for the total quality of patient` care and management. He introduced specialized clinic in Endocrinology every first Saturday of each month in addition to the regular Thyroid and diabetes clinics.

His specialty includes Diabetes and Endocrinology. He is also Chairman of the Joint College and Hospital Space Committee since 2014 and Member of the Board of Directors of AACE-Gulf Chapter since 2017 by election based in Dubai-UAE.
